I think we have a thread for our Favorite WW2 photo's, how about one for when the posting is slow. Actually I just found this picture and thought, (well never mind what I thought), but this is the Sexiest photo I've seen in a long time.
Oh, great, Biak. Now how is anybody else supposed to post a photo to top that one without getting slapped down by a Mod?
You Guys realize I was talking about the lighting the Photographer used right? I mean, seeing that AGM nestled under the starboard wing and the NVD conspicuously sitting on the pilots helmet lets one know this Aviator is ready for action! In mere seconds the canopy will be 'Down & Locked' and once again our Air Force will take to the skies protecting us from those who intend to do us harm. Okay now that I've cleared that up I have to go clean the Cat litter box, and start the laundry. (wife saw the post)
I really, really like this photo and it is a wonderfully artistic photo. However, I think this guy makes a good case that it may have been "enhanced". Even if true, I do not think it takes anything away from the power of the image itself. After all, if someone had used paint and canvas rather than a camera, no one would be calling it "faked".
Hmm? I didn't realize there was a controversy about the shot. I found it and as the saying goes; "in the eyes of the beholder". I'm with you, I like the picture, faked or not it is the 'image' that struck me - nothing more. Maybe I should stick with "nighttime" F-16 photographs or maybe not.
@ Texson - My old and toothless Sabre Jet says, "Oh my goodness! That's a hot bird! How much thrust does she put out? Or doesn't she put out at all?"
I wasn't trying to tinkle on your parade. Just figured if I didn't bring it up, someone else would have eventually. So, I take it that you still have some chores to do.
"Chores are at a standstill for now. All Is Well. Thanks! Had an Awesome day - lunch at probably one of the most "exclusive" fast-food joints in the US. I also saw the elusive Purple Water Fountain !!"
Two....one photo, one video. The photo, my wife found online, I haven't been able to find the photographer's name to give credit where credit is due. But this just hammers home the lesson that the hardest job in any military in the world, by far, is that of "military spouse". View attachment 14570 Video link I got in an email awhile back, probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen, and definitely a day that the kid will remember, forever! This one reminds me of how close men in combat are and how it hurts to lose a one of your friends. A Marine saying good-bye to his friend, Cpl. Villareal, after he stepped on a booby trap in Afghanistan.
