I am currently reading General Rick Hillier's novel A Soldier First. I am just wondering what other who have read the book think of how he describes the situation of our Canadian Forces and what your thought on the whole 1990's debacles.

I haven't read it myself, but you might try the book section and ask there...this may be as good a place as any too.

He has held many positions in the Canadian Forces, and was sent to many places in the world including several years in the USA in Texas, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Croatia and others. He was the one in charge of the Canadian Forces who helped Manitoba with the "Flood of the Century" in the 1990's, and he was also in charge of those who helped Eastern Ontario with the massive Ice Storm.
