This is a great read. I know it sure motivates me. I think I will make my Fire Team read this tomorrow before we go on mission.

I have always admired Patton on the basis of what he accomplished for his country. I also studied him personally and found he may have believed in some forms of reincarnation......however I have never found cause to argue or dispute this as whatever it was that made up this man was of great benefit to his fellow countrymen. He may not have understood a troop having shell shock but whatever faults he had you could be sure he placed the same measurement upon himself. He was bold in battle and leadership and admired by the greater portion of his followers. A veteran friend of mine received a letter from Patton that he showed me. My friend had entered the war at a very young age having lied to the recruiters to get in. He served under Patton in battle and Patton recognized him personally with a very stirring letter. Having the good fortune to read that letter gave me a great appreciation for a man that took the time to appreciate the efforts of those much lower than him in service. I believe we have had many great generals and Patton is definitely one of them.

He probably really believed those things which I would not argue against as I do not know how the next world may function but we can all be sure that whatever Patton believed shaped his performance. In battle and leadership his performance was not lacking in the performance he carried forth. He could be up there ............coordinating forum thoughts and ventures.

"To win battles you do not beat weapons–you beat the soul of man of the enemy man."

    He's right.
