I haven't thought about this for years, and it just dawned on me that Monday would be Boxing Day if it is still observed. Does this still happen? Or is it one of those things that has fallen out of favor?

...Boxing Day is certainly a public holiday in the UK - but most of us will be in the pub, watching the football (soccer) or at the sales !

Still going strong here in Canada, but then again we like holidays.

Still a holiday, although Tuesday is officially designated a holiday in lieu of Christmas Day this year.

Its still a holiday here in Canada. In fact, I didn't even know it wasn't observed in the US.

I have a friend at one of the offices we do IT for, he's married to a British woman, he religiously observes Boxing Day every year. Of course, that's just because, as a trucking company, they barely get Christmas and Thanksgiving off, and if it weren't for falling on the weekend, they wouldn't get Christmas Eve off either. So he claims Boxing Day, and takes two off. LOL 'Course, being related the the owner of the company and the brother of the vice president never hurts, either.

Don't you mean the "non-denominational winter holiday formerly known as Christmas" ? :p

    Merry Christmas everybody! :D
