For the past few years I've been working on an "historical blog", using letters that my father wrote to his parents and to the woman who became my mother. These letters were written during WWII, while he served in the Pacific with the US AAC and in Europe with the 45th infantry. I'd love your help to eliminate any mistakes I may have made; typos, bad links, etc. It's funny, but I can read something a hundred times and still not see an error that I made! I hope you have a chance to visit the blog and that you find information that is interesting and perhaps helpful as you look for connections to your family and/or more information about the men and women who served. I also hope that you'll let me know what may needs fixing. This is a link to the site:http://tinyurl.com/talcott-rhone Thank you!! Joe Talcott Sydney, Australia joe@talcott.us
Joe, that is one nice blog! Congratulations. You have made it into my bookmarks/favorites!. I can't promise it will be soon, but I would be happy to do what I can. As for fact checking, you may want to see if Dave (forum name - Kerrd5) has some free time. He knows a little bit about the 45th Infantry Division.
The mind is funny that way, it tends to see things the way you intended them to read and not necessarily the way you typed them. Happens to me all of the time! Can't wait to read the letters, and I'll thank you in advance for sharing them.
Most excellent. I only had a chance to read a little bit, but it is good. Here is one you might look at: 21 September, 1944...should the salutation be Jan Darling, instead of Jan Daring?
Indeed, all my posts sound brilliant in my mind but by the time it reaches the keyboard all I can say is 'Oh Bloody Hell, not again!'
