I'm glad to be on this forum. For a few years I've been fascinated by war in general. I like WW2 because it's recent and I already know its basic history. There's no particular aspect of the war I'm interested in. I'm not sure that I'll be able to contribute much to this forum, never having even been in the armed forces, although I tried to enlist in the Marines and later the Air Force but was turned down for medical reasons. I'd like to hear what you all have to say about WW2, though. I recently learned, through a serendipitous web search, about a dog named Stubby in WW1 who spent a year or so in the trenches with an American division. I haven't been able to verify this, but I hear he was put in for promotion to Sergeant when he captured a German soldier. Anyway, that's the reason for my moniker. Welcome, all.
Welcome to the forum Sgt Stubby! (Not a euphimism is it? : ) Keep reading the posts...im sure a facet will jump out at you as facinating and you'll want to know more...happens to me all the time.
Howdy, Sgt. Don't worry about not being the military. I would daresay that most here have never served.
Thanks, everybody, for making me feel so welcome. I look forward to learning more about you and WW2, as my time allows. Take care.
Hey Isabella! Can you post a hi on a new thread please...would like to know more about you and what you like about WW2
