Hello WWII forum members, by way of introduction I announce my arrival without any heroic fanfare but rather using Musso's thoughtfully provided template, come creeping in as quietly as possible. I am pilgrimmaster, a construct by which am known on a number of forums, a fifty something year old male (married to pilgrimmistress) with an interest in the second 'Great War' which stems back to my childhood; the son of a former wartime Wren and post-war soldier I spent much of my childhood in Germany, read War Picture Library magazines (yes, comics) avidly, finding it somewhat difficult to reconcile the Germans I knew with those killed by Captain Hurricane RM and Maggot Malone; educated at H&ISC Junior School and later at SLC Ramsgate I maintained my interest in this conflict whilst developing an understanding of previous and future wars. I have vague (and I hope unpretentious) academic interest in the subject, have been and possibly might still be a member of the Centre for Second World War Studies at a midlands university, but the only hobby I have which has a direct link to WWII isshooting Lee Enfield rifles. That and the occasional battlefield tour.
