Sir, are you insinuating my morals would be compromised by imbibing a small amount of liquor?...
You think...you think I'm funny? Funny how?

In looks terms I actually quite like the T1 Cletrac, something 'Mad Max' about it.
That's not to say it isn't entirely understandable it passed into obscurity.

This Breda thing falls into the Mad Max category too:

One that even I may find ugly (seem to recall some appallment here when I (or maybe Bodston) posted it years back) is the Morris Firefly 6pdr project:

If you refer to the "history of Italian mechanized forces" pubblished by the army's historical office I do indeed have a copy :D. (all of those pics come out of that book and were either part of the testing facility archives or official Ansaldo photos). There are more horrible things in there like this one (of obvious Pavesi ancestry).

I would have to say The Vickers Mark VI light tank was a pretty awkward looking vehicle: View attachment 16062

Unfortunately, it appears that bad taste is indeed contagious. :)

The 'Things' at the start of this video of a British Army demonstration in 1926.

I thought they were vehicles made to resemble horses for a bit of fun similar to the chariot races they have on another Pathe news reel using Carden loyd tractors? (2 tractors as horses and the third as a carriage doing a Ben Hur type scene).

Found the chariot race for info

Nowhere near as bad as what the fiendish Nazis did with the ones captured at Dunkirk....

    Mark VI = Handsome.
    LeFH16/MKVI(e) = Also handsome.

And no returns - neither has a place among Ugly Vehicles.

Oh, the MkVI was a cobbled-together ugly piece of scrap....when compared to some of its predecessors....like the beautiful MkIII -

    ...or the MkII

Or some of the gorgeous little "export" Vickers Lights, like the "Dutchman"...

    THOSE are handsome lol

Interesting, I have never seen this vehicle before. I would think that gun would have overloaded that chassis by quite a bit. But, still better than a horse drawn gun i suppose.

    Suspecting sarcasm.
    I've got your number sunshine.
Didn't you used to ride a Harley? Damaged aesthetic sense I'm thinking... :pipesmoke:

(Can you remember where we discussed the LEFH16 mk.VI recently, Phylo? Walter may find it interesting - I can't find the damned thing... some talk of spades & rear views if I recall.)

Is this ugly? I fear it might be:

And the thought of climbing into this is ugly:

Not a AFV but we had those beauties at our BW Luftwaffe for removing the ice from the runway´s. And if you set the jet engines in a nearly horizontally position, you´ve had a amazing speed while driving backwards!

    Possibly on ww2talk?

Anyway - Walter (and V-P) in this case the plot didn't have a spade...instead it had a construction that looked for all the world like a wheelie bar from the back of a dragster!

Somewhere on the Net there's a complete set of walkround photographs, taken at time of delivery into service I assumed from the Wehrmacht officers standing in-shot....but it's been nearly four years since I last found it by accident :( It illustrates the "wheelie bar" excellently.

MY aesthetic concern is over the muzzle cap and its little leather tether...makes it look for all the world like a giant spud gun! :p

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the M3 Lee yet. I mean seriously, just look at that thing, it's hideous! I think the M3 should get the prize for ugliest vehicle that was manufactured in large numbers, as opposed to all the things in this thread that were just prototypes or improvisations.
