I just joined the forum. I am interested in WWII, and have had many pleasant conversations with a german paratrooper (fallschirmjaeger) about his exploits. My father served in the European theater, landing in England 6 weeks before I was born. He was in the 8th Army Air Corps, and was stationed in Chipping Onger in England, Tirlemont in Belgium, and several places in France and Germany. He returned home in 1946. When I was stationed in Germany (1973-75) he came over for a visit, and we toured the areas he had been in. That was interesting.
Hi and welcome to the Forum! Sounds good and i hope you can share some storis of the german paratrooper with us!
387th Bomb Group. What squadron was he with? Started out in the 8th Air Force, but the 387th was transferred to the 9th Tactical AF in late 1943.
Welcome. My dad was also stationed in Germany about the same time as you. I wonder if you knew each other. He was from Wyoming and was an MP.
