Happy to be here, started reading WWII history in the 40's via comic books, then books in the '50s. In recent yrs. have read books by Russian, German and Japanese military men. My father served in France in 1918, a cousin died on Iwo Jima, an uncle who survived the Bataan Death March. My service was just a very untrained National Guard Regiment. Windsor
Welcome Winsor, Your 'very untrained' is still more than my totally untrained Looking forward to your posts. My Grandfather served in France in 1918 also, Who knows they may have shared a trench.
Welcome to the forum! The only uniform I ever wore was that of a Crossing guard when I was in middle school. Boy I had the whitest 'Sam Browne' belt and badge you could shave by!
Glad to have you in our little corner of the internet. I'm the only one that requires no warning. Feel free to post what you want when you want. Though I never served, I'm glad for those who did, even the "untrained" ones.
Another untrained Yank....Welcome..I'm the one they warned you to warn about the warnings. Belasar does boaty things..Biak spacey things, Lou many things, Tommy other things and Opanapointer does the rest.
Welcome Windsor. Don't worry about the funny boys who are trying to make you bekieve they are are even worse than they pretend to be. If the beer in their country wasn't so bad, I coud actually have one with them .
Uh Windsor? Don't listen to a few on here, we're all peaceful-levelheaded-friendly type folks. As for the "spacey' thing, he meant I stare at stars_ not that I'm scatterbrained or anything like that. If we haven't scared you away yet you have nothing to lose. And by the way, we have good Beer here Skipper. I myself only drink Imported Beer - from St Louis, Missouri !
