Hello all. I found some very good discussions on this site so I decided to join all of you fine people. I'm an old soldier, wargaming hobbyist and a bit of an historian. -Top

im also a new member i dont know why but it seems as if world war 2 has always been around me. since i was a child i have always wanted to give thanks to all that served. i wish i could have done more to help but i was born late in the 19th century and missed out but i often think of those times as if i were there . my last name is Clemency i dont know much of my family history other than my father was in desert shield and his father in the second world war. nothing else. does anyone know who i am. i have feeling of actually wanting to be there, i might just have the same heart and soul as those first among us who volunteered to go, i dont know but im sorry.
also does it seem like now is a time with increased fascination of the second world war? why do you think this is. does history repeat itself. or are these fascinations just an effect of the human race feeling the echoes of that time and sensing threats in the future . i just hope what ever it is that we never lose our interest and meories of that time
and clementine i feel as if my last name has been changed at some point i have met clemens , clementine , clement but i only know of 8 clemencys my family
