I have been wanting a WW2 gun for some time now, especially the m1 garand or m1 carbine. But I am clueless about the price of wither.

Which leads me to my question, how much would it be to buy a decent conditioned m1 garand or carbine?

A Garand goes for between $1000 and $1500 in decent condition. A carbine for $500 and up. The price for repliclas is similar.

Problem with getting a Garand from the CMP is you really don't know the quality of the rifle until you get it. Some are "rack grade" that are going to need some work to get them into WWII specs, since most of the rack grade rifles went to Greece after the war.

I wonder if it is legal to place a machinegun nest with a MG 42 replica to my balcony or terrace. I will give it a try when I have my own house :D
