Currently looking for an FJ or ss reenacting group somewhat near me. 1. Your Name: Whats your name? What would you like to be called? How did you come up with your member-name? My name is Joe, Mas is fine. Member name is from the dead sea scrolls. 2. Age: How old are you? How long have you been interested in WWII? I'm 42, I've been interested in ww2 as long as I can remember, my 6 uncles on my mom's side all served in the U.S. forces. My wife is German(but born and raised in Greece) and her grandfather was in it on the German side. 3. Origins: Where are you from? From W.V. but lived all over the world. 4. Specifics: What areas of WWII are you interested in? What would you like to know more about? I have a broad historical basis on the time period. I've always been interested in the SS and FJ's, hence the reason I'm looking for a reenacting group of either or. I'm also a fan of Armored units. 5. Hobbies: What sort of Hobbies do you have? Are any related to World War II? Wargaming? Video-games? Memorabilia? Visiting historic sites? Modelling 1/35th scale. Reenacting and I have visited sites in Europe and museums here in the states. Plan on going to Normandy and Munich. Also a geek who play w.o.w. 6. Other: What other time periods are you interested in? Specific eras? Why? Ancient history, economics, and philosophy. Was Basic Humanities major with a concentration in Ancient Philosophy. 7. Miscellaneous: Anything else you'd like to share with us? I'm a collector of coins and comic books as well as ww2 stuff.
If you are looking for something near you but don't mention where you are it's kind of hard for people to help much. Welcome aboard in any case.
I read the from as being a past tense. I think I have seen some refences to German reenactment units in those areas but that's not something I follow closely. If you haven't checked out the Living History sub forum I'd make a post or two there.
Welcome to the club ! Perhaps reading something on Fort Eben Emael Welcome to our website – Fort Eben-Emael , about one of the first FJ attacks of WW II might be interesting for you, got some photo's of the fortress (been there four times) and the FJ manequins if you're interested (just PM me).
Welcome to the forum! Much of my extended family lives in the south eastern part of that great state (I lived in the capitol for about 6 years as a wee lad).
