    I read the story, too. I'm not clear on the connection, but I remember there was some disagreement on whether it should be returned. I'm glad it was, however.

    Nice story and a good souvenir for the descendants of this Veteran. I agree it must have taken some courage for the 16 year old boy to send it back after it had been a family symbol for 70 years.

    I was just wondering if it was something that got put together through "us" or if anyone knew the players.

    The article said the French family found the veteran via a Texan museum which they contacted initially.

    I saw that too; but, it also says that they were helped through a history forum on the internet. The only 2 online Texas Military museuems I can think of are the one for the 36th ID and the Army Quatermaster Corps.
