An attempt to encourage examining the dangers/issues here without bigotry, knee-jerking, appeasement, oversimplifying, 'correctness', or to quote specifically; "changing the subject".
EDL-ism is changing the subject, a weak & lazy distraction. They have their own agenda, and it ain't mine.

Careful of blanket statements gentlemen...The EDL (whilst having nothing to do with them) are English...living in England...to deny that race and religion are factors is an act of willfull ignorance...i wont get into a discussion about "puratism", but it exists and is completely natural, right or wrong. Its only the wealthy countries who face this problem...and who are the wealthy?

" I understand whats she is saying...but teenage rebelling doesnt include cold blooded murder...thats the realm of the mentaly unfit...either physically or psychologiclaly...This problem has its roots in RACE and RELIGION and DIFFERENCE (not better or worse, thats just a perspective - just Difference). In the case of the London murder, it may also include a deluded youth, sick of feeling powerful and treated as powerless...its deep and requires a solid understanding of history vs human nature to unravel...but its not that complex.

The nazi stuff is affectation - an affiliation of ideals and a way of recruiting youth and getting attention...dont let your vision be clouded by these "clothes"...The jihadists and Nazi are not the same...one wants a pure country thats "theirs"...the other wants all non-beleivers around the world exterminated. I don't see much difference between neo-nazis and Jihadis. The nice thing about the Jihadi types is that you could deport a large percentage of them, before they cut somebodies throat.

The main similarity between neonazis and and fundamentalist islamists is that a free society can't live with either if they decide to put in practice their beliefs, they differ a lot in other respects but those differences are mostly relevant to preventing people falling prey to those mostruous beliefs than to countering the actions of the "believers", the islamists are more dangerous as their belief include self immolation making them a lot more difficult to deter.

The big problem is that a free society thet "cracks down on the crackpots" before they harm anyone takes a big risk of no longer being a free society, one you give a government that sort of power it's nearly sure it will abuse it, and "parliament democracies" governments are more vulnerable than "presidential democracies" to gradual erosion of liberties as they have more inertia (not that the US is doing vell in this regard lately).

There should be an effort to isolate and discredit the crackpots, realtively easy to do with nazis, a lot more tricky with islamists, before relegating them to the mental institutions for the dangerously mad where they belong ........ oops! but wasn't that what Stalin did with his opposition?

Another act... lets hope that Boston wasn't the opening sequence to a new wave of terrorist activity. Some months before Boston, Islamic terrorists were foiled in attempting to blow up a train in Toronto, now there is talk there was also going to be an attempted biological attack too.

My condolences to the grieving family, and my condolences in advance to all of the British citizens and not-yet-British citizens who are going to be attacked by EDL thugs and their skinhead friends, just because they happen to be Muslim, or just because they are brown skinned or wearing a headscarf.

Thanks for an interesting post CAC but urqh, don't worry. There are scientific proofs that the "Germanic" origin of Brits is a myth. Recent DNA analyses have indicated that the British roots are different. Professor Stephen Oppenheimer of Oxford University, says:

There are quite a few other thoughts I would like to share but I better ruminate for a few days first. Hmmmmm.....I just hate unfair crud and these two bullying murderers (had to have two against one and multiple weapons - pansies) should have taken it to the battlefield, not a Woolwich Street. Now these murdering swine have unleashed a creeping floodgate of emotions in the streets that leads to - who knows what (the next chapter of this endless, disgusting, insane, beyond stupid Jihad?), but we are starting to see it unfold. Most unfortunate.

 

I could argue all day on this one...I too have "scientific proof"...studies done to locate genetic lines...history also backs up the Norse/Germanic blood line...Just look at their/our queen! - Racism is a recent word and idea (about a hundred a fifty years old) - Even Africans had to be able to SEE genetic differences from a distance, to know whether that canoe coming towards you is friendly or an attack party....careful not to make too sweeping statements...this goes waaaayy back, to before we were sapiens...
