    Hi everybody--

I'm looking for info for a friend of mine. His grandfather was Ernest Carl Patchet, and he believes that Ernest was in the US Army Air Force and served in Burma.

DOB Jan 21, 1920 in Elwood, Indiana
DOD Dec 12, 1997 South Carolina
    So Sec 317-05-2197

At the very least I'd like to track down his ASN so that I can help my buddy make a request for records through NARA. I've run him through Ancestry.com and found a few things, but not much. I do know that as of the 1940 census he was a private and stationed at Fort Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone.

I couldn't find him in the Army Serial Number database on the NARA site.

Just wondering if all you experts could run his info through whatever online databases you have access to, to give me a place to start.

    Thanks!
    Adam

Thanks 693FA I appreciate the response! I found that obit online (one of the few bits I've been able to find at all). I've instructed my friend to try and ask his relatives for anything they might have, and I'll make a NARA request without the ASN. We'll just have to go from there!

    Cheers,
    Adam
