    I saw the thread title this morning and knew I had to read it. So terribly sad - but I'm glad his father survived ... some comfort.

    There are so many stories out there - thank you for bringing this one to our attention.

    This is just an example of the kinds of horror suffered by many during the Holocaust. The fact that the sinking was a result of Stalin's fiat just makes it worse. This statement in the story says it all.
