Just a quick Hello to introduce myself. I'm Sean - I study History in Swansea University, Wales. I specialize in First and Second World War, but have a vast interest in history in general. Wondering what topics or interests do you guys have?
Welcome to the forums, Sean! Bit of an anorak for Mediaeval history meself, also fortifications, military history and PoWs in Britain in both wars. On that note, are you near Island Farm camp?
Hi Sean and welcome to the forum. Recently signed up to this one myself. Interested in my family history mostly (WW1 - 1st Dorsets, RAMC, KOYLI, WRAF, POWs, WW2 - Ox and Bucks, Glider Pilot Regiment, RAF, more POWs and many other topics). But like yourself will read anything from any period!!!
Hi The_Historian, Thanks - Ah I love medieval fortifications, live up the road to a castle so no suprise, I am indeed near to Island Farm!
Hi Thanks, yeah I see myself using this quite a lot over the next year or so, Ah brilliant, I have recently finished a study into Welsh troops during the WW1 with Swansea Uni - looking at individuals and comparing experiences by using what people had stored in their attics, so letters, post-cards and so on, found so many interesting thins including very rare tench maps and diary's!
Yes this forum is a great resource and I also recommend WW2Talk and Great War Forum. As one of the members here said while welcoming me, it is good to get the other perspective also. But that said I think this forum has a lot to offer in its own right.
I think i'm already part of Great War Forum - but am yet to use it - ill check out WW2Talk But yeah I think here will be able to help me no doubt!
Hello and welcome to the forum from East Yorkshire. My main interest is the Italian Campaign in ww2 but am happy to read about other theatres of war, all mainly ww2. I am also a member of our sister site ww2talk-best to have a foot in both camps because I don't want to miss anything Enjoy Lesley
Welcome Sean. I'm willing to discuss anything about WW2 and its beginnings. I try to read all that I can on this forum, and books galore on a variety of topics concerning WW2.
Welcome to the forums Sean, glad to have you. I appreciate the lego/plastic armyman avatar, just goes to show how very pervasive this military history thing is.
