Once again it is time to remember our veterans present and past. To all those who are serving or have served, thank you. :S! A couple weeks ago, I went to the VA hospital to visit my son who had just had surgery. Even though it was lightly raining, I decided take a look at the statue that stands in the middle of the roundabout that is in front of the building. As I got next to the statue, I noticed that the rain made it appear as if the nurse figure was crying. I had my camera with and took a photo: View attachment 19839
Thanks for helping to save ours arses a couple of times chaps. Have you got a a photo of the full statue? Looks interesting.
Tommy, hope your son is doing well. Thank you for sharing the photo. I do want to share a very nice thing that happened to my dad. He had to have some oral surgery. When he went to the preliminary appointment with the surgeon, the surgeon saw that he was a WWII veteran so he told my dad there was no charge for the appointment. When my sister called to make arrangements for the surgery, she asked how much they needed to pay the day of the procedure, and she was told the doctor was doing the entire procedure at no charge because of my father's service. It was just such a nice gesture on the part of the doctor. The doctor has a son who is currently serving.
What a wonderfully special and unexpected thing to do for your dad! BTW, my son is doing well. He had a couple of post op problems, but seems to be past that now. Thank you very much for asking. Oh, yeah. I owe WW a full photo.
Finally managed to track down a photo of the full statue in front of the VA Hospital. View attachment 19860
And here is a photo of the plaque that is located to the right of the statue (from the point of view in the photo). View attachment 19861
