hello to all. I just received this link and am happy to start wading through this forum. I am an avid researcher of the 139th Airborne Engineer Battalion and enjoy all aspects of the 17th A/B Div as well. I write, research and collect! I look forward to the conversations.

Since i started this thread, can someone advise on how to donate? Is it the store and buy a widget for $10? I know it costs to run these and I like to do my part.

Glad you decided to come over. So far, there is no place for donations. Several of us have brought up our willingness to donate, but there has been nothing further. Thanks for the thought, though.

Just click on any adverts you see on the forum
Otto gets money from Google Ads for that as I understand it.
Best thing to do is get some movement on the forum with your 17th AB info & photo in attracting new members.

pS welcome to ww2f. I'm Owen over at w2talk by the way. :)

    Owen,
Sounds great. Thanks. I'm trying to get situated on a few of the forums to generate interest in the 17th A/B. It seems to be the forgotten A/B division with the bulk of attention going to the 101/82. Glad to know who I'm chatting with. I jsut published a book ont he 139th AEB and hoep to generate som interest there as well. But that is another story.

Have you got any photos or stories about their time in England?
I know most people will be interested in what they did in combat but thought I'd ask.

I have a chapter on their time in England in the book i just published. It can be reviewed for free on my blog. Just open the page at the link right below this line, click on the book cover and it will download as a pdf.

    http://castraponere.com/bloodonthetalon/book-update/

    It can be ordered here:

    http://castraponere.com/index.php?id=2

I wanted everyone to be able and see the entire content before ordering, much like a book store. i am not concerned about losing sales, as I am not doing theis for big money. I enjoy the work and am happy to share it with others. If it is good, it will sell!

Here is what the book cover looks like, but you have to go to my blog to read it.

Another published author. I looked quickly at the pdf of the book. I'll be sure to read the whole thing later. From what I saw, it looks pretty good. The photos and diagrams make it even better.

Thanks to all of you for the kind comments. I cannot believe my luck for stumbling onto the site. I have had my nose in the books for too long and lately have branched out looking for new info and contacts. What a great site y'all have.
