Interesting. I was just writing about Mortain and how it turned the battle in France, and there is Monty talking about those decisions.

Montgomery gave 6 lectures on BBC TV in 1958 about his campaigns (plenty of crumbling!)- I remember them.

Was absolutely spellbound.

Have you ever come across them - I think the Beeeb may have lost or taped over them.

 

Sorry no idea - I should mention my main interest is 10th May to 4th June 1940 in France. Anything else is stuff I've copied for others over the years.

 

I must say I thought you chaps would be all over these documents - Lets see if the his comments on the Ardennes get a post or three

 

Everyone stunned , apoplectic .- or ignoring what might be considered as historic trolling
