Hello, never posted to this forum so this might be the wrong forum and I'm not sure how well these kinds of things are received. Regardless, I figured it was worth posting. I spent a decent amount of time researching the uniform but I know a couple things are probably a bit off.

Let me know what you guys think and if anyone likes this I'll keep posting them here. And if anyone has any good photo suggestions I would love to hear them too. Thanks!

There's something curious about this first pic. I understand airborne troops had lots of gear etc...its interesting that he is holding a weapon ( a Thompson?) in his right hand/arm. Is this pic posed?

Would that weapon not have been secured better?

As far as the details/shading of the uniform/gear it looks realistic enough.

I'd guess that the photo was posed.......based on the Tommy Gun being held.

Some of the C-47 pilots got so freaked out from the flak that they did not follow their orders with regards to drop altitude and more importantly their airspeed for the drop. Many paratroops were dropped too low and their chutes did not open in time. Others, like Lt Dick Winters from Band of Brothers, lost almost all of his gear because the C-47 was going so fast that the opening 'shock' of the chute stripped most gear off of him! He landed with his maps and his knife!

If you've seen a lot of videos, you've seen the paratroops so loaded with gear that they had to be 'boosted' up the boarding ladder onto the C-47! One paratroop (who carried a mortar, ammo, etc) weighed just over 400 lbs before he boarded his plane!
