Yes, La Gleize is not that big, but nothing beats the collection..... For me the best museum in The Bulge area.....and it has a King Tiger in front of it!
My Dad was in the Belgium from early November 44 through February 45. Most of that time was in the small village of Westmeerbeck. I have information that they were set up in the villages soccer field. I have translated the coordinates from his units history and there are today soccer fields near those coordinate points. Guess I was wondering if there was anyone in that village I could reach out to and see if there are any photos or information during this time. RHHolder
Welcome Fenton. My Dad had this letter in amongst his Army paperwork from a Belgian lady. Tried tracing her a few years back and wrote to an address somebody gave me, but sady I didn't receive a reply. She was in her 90's when I tried writing to her. Dad was still with the 5th East Yorkshires at this point when she sent the letter. Enjoy the forum as much as I am. Cheers - Maria
Welcome , I suppose you mean Westmeerbeek near Antwerp? http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ww2peopleswar/stories/37/a4288737.shtml Also try Hulsthout which is a much bigger place right next to it.
