Hello. I am a 65 yo VietNam Vet - Navy Corpsman Fleet Marines. I wished I had spent mored time listening to my dad and uncle about WWII and their service time. My dad enlisted Oct 42 and was with 121st General Hospital from formation at Camp Ellis, transport across to England, France, then into Germany after surrender, was on Queen Mary for transport and was the Supply Sgt. (S/Sgt) at return to states and discharge. My Uncle was a US Army medic and served in Europe enlisting shortly after my dad (Feb 43). I am researching any info I can find.
Hi Badger, I will be moving back home there near Portage in about 6 months. Welcome to the forums. To get a general feel for what Medical Units did check out this site www.med-dept.com edited to add. While in England they were stationed at Yeovil, Somerset.
Hi Bruce, nice to have a new member from Dairy land. I have a few relics from Queen Mary in my militaria collection.
Welcome to the Forum, Bruce. SirJahn has already suggested a great website for you, if you aren't already aware of it.
