    1. Your Name: Whats your name? What would you like to be called? How did you come up with your member-name?
I'm Jessi, and my username has been a username I created ages ago when I first started using the internet. It pays homage to my Irish heritage. My father is from Ireland, Eire. Aislynn is a Gaelic name which means dream. I have dreams of Ireland.

    2. Age: How old are you? How long have you been interested in WWII?
I am 31 and have been interested in WWII since about the sixth grade when my grandfather gave me his darkroom equipment and started showing me photos he took during the war.

    3. Origins: Where are you from?
I grew up about a mile from Detroit and have been in mid-Michigan for about eight years.

    4. Specifics: What areas of WWII are you interested in? What would you like to know more about?
On account of my grandfather, I have been interested in The Battle of the Bulge for a while. He is a veteran of the 575th AAA of the 11th Armored Division. He and his brothers enlisted, and he and his twin were granted gubernatorial permission to go together as radio operators. I would love to learn more about the Mauthausen liberation but have always wanted to learn about the autrocities my German grandmother and her family suffered in Russian camps in Siberia.

    5. Hobbies: What sort of Hobbies do you have? Are any related to World War II? Wargaming? Video-games? Memorabilia? Visiting historic sites?
I have been a photographer since my grandfather got me hooked with his photos. I am also a dancer and musician. I used to fancy myself a writer, but that hobby has fallen by the wayside. Preserving my grandfather's photographs and negatives has been an ongoing project. I also work in wildlife rehabilitation, enjoy camping, kayaking, hiking, and nature photography.

    6. Other: What other time periods are you interested in? Specific eras? Why?
I have also been interested in the Vietnam War as well as Irish history. My father and his family are from Ireland, so there are many historical and genealogical interests. I don't really know why I have an interest in Vietnam. Great Lakes history fascinates me as well.

    7. Miscellaneous: Anything else you'd like to share with us?
I have two children with whom I hope to share history with. I also am active in family and child advocacy within the family court system and have hopes of working to liberate those who suffer Court Licensed Abuse which is the perpetuation of domestic violence and child abuse through the family courts.

Thank you. I look forward to learning more here. Other pages I tried to follow went dormant. It is great to find a site with active participants.

Remember it's Christmas time, so many people are away but will be posting again in a couple of days.
In the meantime there are still enough members to post new threads and contribute to others every day , and this goes on all year .
So there is always something to see .
