It's always been Merry Christmas in our house. Like mentioned above I don't get bent out of shape if someone say Happy Holidays to me.
Excuse me now though, I have the building of a Ginger Bread House to supervise.

This is a very simple matter in my opinion. The whatever the greeting is, the recipient should accept it in the spirit intended. I don't expect someone who doesn't know me to know what my religious affiliation is. So how can I get upset if they don't know what greeting to offer me? However, if they tell me, "Happy Winter Solstice", I know they are not telling me to go to hades. I accept it as a gesture of good will.

Tommy, you are 100% spot on !!! I cannot even imagine what the fuss is all about. . A guy got kicked off a flight from NYC to Dallas for getting really upset because the agent and flight attendant were say Merry Christmas !

All my holidays are happy, but at this time of year the greeting is Merry Christmas. If other Religious festivals were treated the same way Christmas is there would be outrage, and rightly so. Why cannot Christians just be left alone to get on with being Christians.

I'm an atheist and I'll say Merry Christmas to everyone and treasure the Christmas spirit. As Scrooge's nephew George said of Christmas, "though it has never put a scrap of gold or silver in my pocket, I believe that it has done me good".

I still prefer to say Merry Christmas as rousing as I can just to give heartburn to the purpetually offended in this wonderful Christmas season.
