    Hi All,

I'll use the standard template below and elaborate a bit:

    1. Your Name: My Name is Steve
    2. Age: I'm 26 and I'd say I've had a life-long interest in militaria, sparked an interest in WWII by my great-uncle who was a POW captured by Germany.
    3. Origins: Originally from Connecticut
    4. Specifics: Currently interested in the Army Air Corps, specifically B-24 Liberators.
    5. Hobbies: Musician, gamer, general category "geek"

I have quite a bit of knowledge of and fantastic connections to the 448th BG/713th BS out of Seething, UK during the times of 1943-1945. I have a strong interest in Seething during that time, as well as various Stalag's (especially Luft IV) and the "Black March" (Aka death march across Germany) from Feb-Apr 1945 which my great-uncle experienced first hand. If anyone else has such a niche interest, I'd love to exchange info.

    Steve

Welcome to the site Steve, glad to have you. Looking forward to your knowledge.

I play the original Combat Mission games from time to time (CM:BB), and rarely War Thunder.

Thanks for the warm welcome all! In case you're interested, I made this nifty little visual timeline of my Great-Uncle while deployed and captured in Europe:

If anyone has any connections to any of the points on the map (however tenuous), please let me know. I'm sure there are thousands of stories from the various Stalag's and bases shown.

    Hope you enjoy it!

    Steve

PS - In case you're interested, he was attacking a V-weapons (V-I and V-II) site near Haute-Cote, France when they were struck by flak. All 9 members of the crew were able to escape and parachute at 24,500 ft. They were all captured fairly quickly once on the ground by German forces.

My Great-Uncle was tortured by a German Captain (according to his written account). He spoke German fluently growing up in a German immigrant household, and instinctively replied to German questions in German. They treated him as a spy at first because of this.

Me too. Spent last week in Park City, Utah skiing with friends. Skied Breckenridge several times in the past. Where in Colorado do you live?

Welcome Steve, I think you will find some B-17/ 8th Air Force interest here. BTW, our daughter lives in Littleton.
