    Hi all
So I have almost no info on my father who served in ww2.
He served somewhere in Europe during the early part of the war,
and was wounded early on and sent home.
He died shortly after i was born and the only relic I have of his is this,
piece of trench art made from a 25 pdr artllery shell.
My mother tells me he made it. I've tried for hours to id it, but I'm getting no where.
If anyone knows of a reference source or recognizes it please let me know.
From what I understand it should list who made it, who fired it and maybe even where?
    Posting some pics to help
    Thanks in advance

Not my area, so all I can tell you is that it is a British made 25 pounder shell casing from 1941. I suspect there is NO WAY to find out who fired it or where, unless your father left some information about that. Good luck.

Standard base cartridge case for a British 25pdr Field Gun, manufactured in 1941 by the Elswick Cartridge Co. 'CF' stands for Cordite Filled.

All was said . Just an addition in case you weren't aware of this : the broad arrow symbol was used by the British on almost everything , going from metal to clothing , plastic and anything that could get markings . .
