Hi everyone, I am an ex 20 yr Sgt Major Artificer with the Australian Army and an avid enthusiast of WW2 British & Commonwealth Armour particularly the UK use of the Sherman and the Normandy & NWE campaigns. Additionally I am a modeller and host on of the forums (General) on the Missing Lynx Website. I hope I can contribute and learn from your forum

    In response to the questionnaire:
1.Your Name and Forum Member Name: My name is Alastair but usually go by Al. My username is albowie which I use on many forums - selected for obvious reasons
    2. I am a spritely 53 and have been interested in WW2 since my early school years. My Uncle was a Mosquito Pilot (23 & 605 Sqn) during the war which got me started
    3. I am originally Scottish from Uddingston & Falkirk but have lived in Australia since the age of 6
    4. My Primary interest is the NWE Campaign and British Commonwealth Armour. I have an extensive knowledge (though far from complete) of the British Desert Campaign and the NWE Campaign, I have a very good general knoweldge of the Australian campaigns of WW2, Korea, Malaya and Vietnam as well as good WW2 general knowledge ?
    5. I am a modelelr (35th Armour mainly) and like outdoos type activities like bushwalking Kayaking etc. I am an avid reader of WW2 Regimental histories and Memoirs and have an extensive library.
    6. I am an avid and passionate fan of the Sherman tank

    Regards
    Alastair Bowie

They are generally the senior technical advisor to a formation in a given technical field (I was an Electronics Artificer and went on to be a maintenance advisor. Along the way i was a Radio & Radar mechanic in Cavalry units, Field Workshops and Various specialist workshops. Started out as a 16 yr old Apprentice and graduated into the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME)
