My interests include family and local history, palaeontology, history, model making (balsa – WW2 aircraft, wood 17th and 18th century ships-of-the line), particle physics, quantum mechanics, oil painting, sketching, gardening, keeping fish (aquariums), – and others. It may sound impressive but I never said I was any good at them! I, also, like cooking, making my own wine, walking in the country, sitting on the beach, and chilled white wine on a cool summer’s evening. I’d like to have an AK47 so that I could show my appreciation to certain politicians, plastic explosives so that I could get rid of BBC Sports (yuk!!!). You’ll have to excuse me as I believe that’s MI5 knocking on my door. Oh, yes, I have a dreadful sense of humour and find most things in life funny.

I am retired (unfortunately) but have worked as an electrical/mechanical designer in locomotive and power generation equipment. I have run an electrical engineering factory – loved the work, found people difficult!

I don’t know who any of the modern, so-called, celebrities are and can’t see why they should interest me. They’re all pale imitations of life.

I will be well over 21 years of age this year – all I will say is that I was born before WW2 and I do remember it – I even know who Frank Sinatra, Al Jolson, Elvis Presley, and John Wayne were! My grandchildren think I’m weird but we get along fine – I just have to remember to say that something is cool when it obviously isn’t. And to remove the “C” from the front of “Rap” when I’m talking to them – though I know I’m right!

I’m an all round nice guy – that always makes my wife smile. I’d replace her but, after 50-plus years of marriage, I haven’t got the time to train a new one (actually, that’s her joke!)!
