Greetings! Growing up in the '70s and '80s, I had a fascination with the Second World War that was initially fueled by Sgt. Rock comics and Marx playsets and later fortified by excellent history teachers. I'm interested in all theaters of the conflict but have a particular affinity to the war in the Pacific. Can't wait to begin posting!

Welcome to the Forum, Jackball74. Does the 405th Bomb Squadron have any special significance to you?

Thanks everyone! My great uncle Tom Boots was a bombardier with the 405th who was shot down off of New Guinea in '43. As he was filling in on that mission, one of my goals is to find out the names of the men he usually flew with.
