Hi guys! I would like to know what you think of the game called Company of Heroes 2. Have you tried it? Is it realistic? Is there a lot of playability or we always do the same thing over and over again? Is it realistic to the ww2 era?

I have a Mac Os X El Capitan. Would it be too slow on my computer?

    Thanks for your help!

It portrays the Soviets as cowards who only attacked with machine guns behind them (order 227 was in action for a short amount of time) while Americans are portrayed as heroes who throw their lives away for the freeing of France. While America did do the latter, the Soviets were rather brave too. They also had more motivation - many of their family members were under German occupation.

EVEN SO - I enjoy the game. It is a lot of fun. It is VERY arcade-y though. If you want a more realistic game, you should look into Hearts of Iron III.

I'm definitly not a fan of the Soviets on the other hand no reasonable person can deny the bravery of the soldiers of the Red Army. The losses speak for themselves. Trying to deny their bravery discredits the proponent of that position. That said does it really imply that the only reason they attacked was that the guns to their rear forced them to? The Red Army relied a lot on mathmatics to determine what was adequate to launch an attack, could it be a function of this rather than bravery?

    Sorry for wandering off topic.

Back on topic can someone tell us a bit more about the game?

I love this game, but I don't really play MP, just SP skirmishes and the American Ardennes campaign.

The object of the game is to gain territory in the form of capture points. Once captured and part of your territory, these points net you increased manpower for creating soldiers, supplies for outfitting upgrades to your soldiers, building defenses like MG emplacements, barbed wire, etc., using assets, etc, and finally 'oil' which allows you to build vehicles/tanks/etc. As the game progresses, you're able to unlock more advanced units but you start out constructing your basic infantry soldiers, support soldiers, etc. Ultimately, your goal is to annihilate the enemy but there are different game modes as well.

You also use "commanders" which you can select prior to the start of playing which unlock certain assets to you, like paratroopers or off-map artillery strikes.

Other features factor in like snow, which limits infantry movement and can result in them freezing to death if you're not careful.

It's my favorite WW2 RTS but it is quite arcade-ish if you're used to the more advanced and intricate strategy games out there.

Many maps, four factions, mods... good replayability.
