Hello and I am Cyrus, but everyone calls me Boo (long story). I am 17 years old and have an intense interest in History, more specifically WWII and beyond. I have been researching history since I could read, my mother says that the first book I read was a 100 or so page book on The Second World War, I carried it with me everywhere. I have continued my research my entire life so far and I arguably know just as much or more than my history teachers in many subjects. I even have written, in my own free time and under my own ambition, a 280 something page Google doc that is a detailed timeline on the Interwar and WWII periods. I will share the link if requested. Among my hobbies are reading, watching documentaries and teaching my mother about the Eastern Front of the Second World War (the front I am most interested in).
Fellow (former Iowan here). Welcome. I love the Eastern front as well. Traveled Ukraine extensively and the sites/museums are terrific. I've also written a book about a SE Iowa soldier in the 327 Glider Infantry of the 101. After being drafted he went to Camp Dodge before basic. Here's a fb link about him: https://www.facebook.com/327-Glider-Infantry-Screaming-Eagle-109600119062869/?ref=hl
Greetings from a fellow WWII enthusiast and welcome! P.S. The first book that I read was about the battle of Normandy.
Glad to have you Cyrus. My toddler son often gets called BooBoo by his mother (for his supposed similarity to a bear), so you are in good company. I'm right over the State border in Chicago, so we are neighbors. I'd love to see your google doc, please PM it to me if you are willing to share.
