    Hello,

My name is Rickard Ljungkvist and I am a classically trained artist who, among other things, paint historic motifs. I now take commissions and they are usually painted live at www.twitch.tv/slamdanc3r.

If you are interested in getting a vehicle, scene or story from the second world war come to life on canvas, please contact me at r.ljungkvist@hotmail.com with your idea and I will get back to you with pricing etc. First I do a rough sketch that we can agree on, then it takes about 2-3 weeks to get ready and dry.

A painting 60×40 cm costs 400-500 euro, plus shipping. Larger than that will take longer to finish and cost more.

For more info please visit www.rickardljungkvist.se or contact me at: r.ljungkvist@hotmail.com

ps. Otto kindly let me post this.

Rickard has my full endorsement to post this, and did ask permission in advance. This probably isn't the best location on the forum for it, but until we assign an art location (soonish) I'll leave it here for now.

Thanks for posting and good luck with your endeavors.

Otto an art location seems like a very good idea. We've recently had a number of artist start posting and I find it a very positive thing. I've made a couple of suggestions as to where is the best place to post but haven't been sure exactly. Maybe a section in the pen and ink board for artist of all stripes (authors, painters, modelers, etc) who post here would be a good idea. They could give a brief biography and samples, prices, that sort of thing. A separate for sale area might be also worth considering. The latter could be for books, works of art, etc not necessarily by the author but they would certainly be welcome IMO.

This probably wasn't the best place for this post either ....

Agreed. That would be a nice add on here.

On the side topic of art made for this forum...

Could someone please repair the [sigpic][/sigpic] signature for E.A.Campbell?
    - It was a magnificent artists rendering of his aircraft. Sure to be here. Right?

I am certain the master copy is still somewhere in http://www.ww2f.com/topic/4171-lancaster-bomber-514-squadron
    - but it is such a monster big thread (probably the single biggest single thread on WW2 anywhere on the net) that I have not been able to troll through it to find it.

Not found so far at: http://www.hilaroad.com/RCAF/pages.html

Edit: Not the main digital image, but a Snap shot was found:

With Slamdancer's Paintings ad and Alvinhy's Card Deck thread,
this might just be THE particularly best and most appropriate time to take a deep breath and just do it: start up an Arts sub Forum.

Then move these to threads into it to get it started.
There have been a number of similar threads recently started on our sister forum: http://ww2talk.com
It would be quick work to get them to cc here.

There's also the "hello from the Canary Islands" thread. Some WWII related videos recently as well.

Yes we have rather hijacked your thread and for that I apologize. The bumps may help keep it in peoples eyes though.

A WW2 art section is on the way, to be sorted this weekend. We do have a whole suggestions area in the "Counter Battery Fire" area, but it makes sense to make suggestions about art in this thread, since it was your great art that spawned the whole idea in the first place.

Rickard, when i create the new section I will clean up this thread and put your work in it's own place as it deserves.
