Has anyone seen the short (approx 9 mins) Russian film with the Polish title 'Od Wisły do Odry' (From the Wisła to the Odra) ?

It shows the Red army taking the then German town of Meseritz ( now Międzyrzecz) and the 'fight for Poznań'.

I can't find it on You Tube, but first saw it on a local Facebook page. (I copied it onto one of my Facebook pages).

Oh well done, Skipper! Thank you.

It's a very interesting piece of real-time history.

It shows the prison yard in Meseritz (in those days a German town) full of dead prisoners which the Germans had shot just before the Russians arrived. A few prisoners had survived to tell the tale. It also shows part of the MRU.

Poor Poznań. Such an elegant city. I used to stay there when I was young(er).
