    You seem a Gibson/Peavey man? Surprised there's no Rickenbacker...Marshall?
I only dabbled with the six string, playing bass, singing...started at 13 with a 60s (Beatles/Elvis) band called the 'Cave Dwellers' in reference to the Cavern...and finished at 18 with a thrash band called 'Undead'...

Personally, I'm a Gibson/Marshall person... I do like Peavy though.
That guitar/amp in that photoshoot from 2003, I didn't own/belonged to the owner of the venture.
I own a cheap amp with a Korg ToneWorks AX3000G multi effect.

My first band was me and this other guitarist (who was heavily into Jimi Hendrix), me and this girl called Mariam in a band we called Purple Slinky, I was 16, she was 18. Just 2 guitarists (who didn't know how to play/together) we had fun, but that was my first ever band.

We both had cheap Stratocaster copies, only she had a nicer Squire Strat...

I play it too but nothing special. I taught myself to play it over the internet.

I recorded this the day I picked up my guitar from where I have my pickups installed.
Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-1 set on my 1996 Gibson Custom Les Paul Standard (same type of guitar and pickups as Slash from Guns N' Roses)! :)

You could semi mute those strings (with the side of your hand), drum beat and do the vocals too...come on!

This guitar needed to be fixed when I swapped it with another broken guitar that I didn't like the neck profile of.
Originally this guitar had a white scratch plate and 2 single coil pickups and a humbucker in the bridge (all cheap/Columbus/stock)... but when I acquired it, I only had 2 of the 3 pickups and the scratch plate wasn't attached to the guitar and the telltale Columbus pointy headstock, was broken!..

    Here's what happened...
I almost fell off my seat back when I found out my friend, my guitar guy who does my builds - was at the time - the UK distributor for Floyd Rose parts... I was looking for them online, went to my country's link and it directed me to my friend's company in town - small world - I had to have one (even more) when I saw that... I had a black Floyd Rose Original Tremolo bridge installed with the correct lock in nut to match/fit..
And I went for the 'floating' option which meant more wood was cut out and the guitar strings were the only thing holdinging that tremolo onto the guitar. Also, a set of Grover tuners and the Jim Dunlop Strap Lock system I use - all black metal hardware I choose (when before it was chromed plastic and chrome).

    I FIRST had this...

That DiMArzio X2N I had in he bridge, and 2 DiMArzio Area 67 stacked humbuckers (humbuckers that fit into single coil bays/slots) on a 5 way selector switch (like the stock configuration)..
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVONDNjVe4Q
    Hated it.
Hated myself for wasting my time and money on it.

So I had to go back to the drawing board... and went to my trusted Seymour Duncan, tried this SH-13 I wanted to try... That and a toggle switch and moving that bridge pickup to the neck so this guitar had 2 bridge pickups - saved my guitar.

Cheap Columbus Pointy Headstock with after market:
    • Black scratch plate (Original one was white)
    • Bridge DiMarzio X2N in the neck position
    • Bridge Seymour Duncan SH-13 'Dimebucker' in the bridge
    - In fact, this is the Dimebag Darrell signature pickup/slightly smaller than the original SH-13.
    • American toggle switch, input, volume/tone pots (controls)
    • Floyd Rose Original Tremolo bridge/nut 'floating' (with more wood cut out of the guitar for this to happen)
    • Grover tuners
This video demonstrates the uniqueness of the guitar...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwYjgxZTy18
(3 way/toggle switch in the middle of this guitar using both Seymour Duncan SH-13 bridge and DiMarzio X2N bridge pickups).

Not bad for a guitar worth £130 brand new...

The uniqueness of this build gave me a tone, I felt, that I can liken to a metal grate or, the stage that Guns N' Roses used in the early 1990s for their UYI World Tour..

Always noticed how the wooden spoon broke while giving the TAP on the coconut.
Buddy is like- hey my spoon broke. He looks around, realizing the others - in gorilla suites- could not see his troubles...So he continues with a broken wooden spoon bit.
The devil is in the details.

I am a washed up drummer...disabled...fused wrist and back...cannot sit behind a kit and play any longer.
Most guitar players I played with could not or did not want to work on their gear, so I took it up.
Learned how to bias a tube amp, found I had a knack for it, took some classes at my local college, and now I build and repair guitar amps as a Hobby/Semi-Profession.
My wife owned a smallish backline company for a few years. I have been to some fairly big arenas, met some pretty big Blues/Rock icons...been to NAMM a few times.
I like Any Guitar that sounds good. Some of my "Heroes" played an SG:
    Clapton
    Robby Krieger
    Mick Taylor
In the end, I appreciate anybody that plays well and sounds good.

Matt Simpson can pick up just about any 4, 5 or 6 string and do well.
And...what do you know (at 2:10) he has an SG in his hands in this video.....

    I take it you're talking a Gibson SG...my most hated guitar! : )
So many try hard "heavy" bands use the SG to make them look tough (that's my take on it) - If one is going in that direction a flying V or BC Rich Warlock would be more appropriate...After all these years the Strat is still the jack of all trades and hard to go past...Telecasters are my second hated guitar...ugly and tinny...and yes I know many swear by it.
Favourite guitar? Rickenbacker had the sweetest action of any guitar ive played...smoooooth....
But id choose a double cut Les Paul...dark green lacquered finish, so you can see the grain underneath...scalloped frets, no scratch plate...with a blonde fret board...thats what id be seen with.

Man...I dig the Tele also. :)
    Roy Buchanan
    James Burton
    Steve Cropper
    Bill Kirchen
    Robbie Hoddinott
    Samantha Fish
    Stairway To Heaven

There are famous players and songs for every guitar
    Strat
    LP
    J-45
I can understand where weight would be on a players mind...but some are just heavier than others. :)

I play a MIM Fender Tele.

And by play, I mean it has mostly been sitting in its case for about 15 years.
