I have been a WW2 buff since I was a boy growing up in rural New South Wales. I have studied, read and written about WW2 as a student, teacher and historian. My areas of special interest are Nazism, the Third Reich at war, the Holocaust, the Christian Churches and the war and Holocaust, with a particular focus on the role of Pope Pius XII, the Catholic Church. I have a blog that I work on where you can find my posts on Pius XII and the Church during the period from the 1930s through to the end of the war. It's called Paul on Pius.

At the moment I am browsing through albums with images of the end of the war in Germany.

    Cheers!

G'day and welcome to the forum.

That looks like an interesting website, and I have bookmarked it for further reading.

Thank you all for the welcome. I adopted the moniker "Eugenio1876" because he was, and I guess, has been a part of my life for so long through study and research!

I am enjoying looking through many of the threads - so much to read - it's like being a kid in a lolly shop!

I've read some of your blog entries. You've done some deep research on Pius XII. Did you read the archives yourself? What you have written gives a great deal of food for thought.

    Hi Lou,

I have digital copies of a lot of material from the pre-war years - much of it available on line (see the list of recommended sites I have on my blog). The war years material comes from the published record of ADSS 1965-1981. And yes, I have read the lot! It took about four years to do it - mostly because my day job keeps me busy! I am in the process of posting documents fro Volume 1 March 1939 - May 1940.

    Cheers,

    Paul
