My Dad served for 31 years, retiring from the USAF as a Lt. Colonel. He enlisted in the Army, joined the Air Corps and flew bombers in WWII. At the end of the war he was one of the famous "Flying Sargeants" when the Air Force was formed. He commanded a radar base in Korea and flew transports in Vietnam. He worked as a contracts manager on many projects including the ICBMs, and was working in SAMSO at the LAAFB when he retired. I have a few photos from WWII that I plan on posting when appropriate.
