Does anyone play War Games on PC. I play 3 now -

War in the Pacific : The Struggle against Japan 1941 - 1945. This is an excellent depiction of the entire Pacific Conflict. You can play as the Allies or the Japanese, against the Computer (AI) or Hot Seat or PBEM. There are several scenarios to choose from ranging from the entire Pacific Conflict starting with the attack on Pearl Harbor right through to the end of the war. There are also some smaller scenarios taking in smaller parts of the war ie Guadalcanal, The Marianas campaign and the South & Southwest Pacific offensives including Operation Cartwheel. There is a new update coming out which will make the map even more detailed. This is called the Admiral's Edition and should be out by early summer.

Korsun Pocket - The Germans last great stand in Russia during 1944. You can play as the Russians or Germans. Included are other scenarios and campaigns from other fronts and also an add on which you buy seperately called - Across the Dnepr which takes in part of Operation Barnarossa.

Close Combat : Cross of Iron - Tactical level combat on the Eastern Front during WW2. You can play the entire campaign in several operations from 1941 -1945. Play as the Russians or the Germans. Depending on the scenario you will have a force made up of several teams - Infantry, Machine Gunners, Mortar Teams, AT Guns and or Armour. Just getting in to this and I must say that it's quite good.

All available from - Matrix Games - Whats Your Strategy?

I've never played any PC war games, other than a basic version of online battleship.

Are the graphics for the flying games anything like the level of a decent flight simulator?

The ones I mentioned above are all Strategy Games. Igo-Ugo. "War in the Pacific" is an absolutely absorbing game when you get in to it. Have spent many an hour playing it. There are also several mods available to make it even more enjoyable. Can't wait for the "Admirals Edition" which should be out by early summer. Legendary Wargame designer Gary Grigsby is the brains behind this classic :thumb:
