    Hello,

Guess what? Not only am I doing the D-Day refight but I have volunteered to do an Arnhem one too for next year!

So, I am after a list of glider loads (Martin and Peter J I may need to pick your brains in the next few months), Allied OOBs and a German OOB. Or books that contain the info. I have the British OOB but a few more wouldnt do any harm to check!

Also does anyone know where I can get Zwarts' book online? I tried Amazon and they didnt have any...

    Regards

    RED

For glider loads there is one peerless source : Arie-Jan van Hees' 'Tugs And Gliders To Arnhem' . Not cheap, but amazing.....

AFAIK, Zwarts' book is sadly OOP - the only place I've seen a copy lately was in the museum shop at the Hartenstein.

I really have to get my act together and get a copy of TAGTA. I think this title can be ordered via marketgarden.com.

Another title you might consider is "Arnhem Sacrifice" by Colin Cummings. He also provides a summary of the Troop carrier and Glider loads, but definitely not in as much detail. The book contains other miscellaneous info such as OOBs and battalion TO&Es and medal citations (both successful and unsuccessful).

"Who Was Who" during the Battle of Arnhem, is also a must have for the British OOB.

I did a search on Zwarts' book and although it's out of print there does seem to be a ton of online booksellers who have it in stock. I'm not sure which one to recommend, as I normally go through Amazon because they're very reliable. Red, do what ever it takes. Cheat, steal, kill if you have to, but you must buy that book! ;)

I promise to look into that German OOB as soon as I get over my Rome Total War obsession :(

    All the best,

    Peter
