A big welcome to Cypherq / Benedykt Welcome, and glad you decided to join us. I hope you enjoy your stay here...
- Well, I got into this by chance and I decided to join. I don't know too much about tanks. I'm mostly interested in Military History, WW2 small arms, militaria items [bayonets, belt buckles and so on] and inert ordnance [only fired shell cases for AA guns and aircraft cannons and steel disintegrating belt links]. I study the headstamp markings and take very close pictures to some of them. I wrote a few articles about headstamps and some types of cartridges for the IAA journal printed in USA. I was born in Eastern Europe [Romania] but I live in USA [in Dixieland] for many years. I served in the Romanian Army a few dacades ago for 16 months in the Alpine Troops. It was quite an experience! I hope to enjoy posting here. --- NOTE: I'm using the name of "Orita" which was a WW2 Romanian made submachine-gun, "9mm M1941 Orita", an excellent made weapon. Orita 05/03/06
- Tony Williams and I are both IAA members. He's a great guy and I have one of his books named "Rapid Fire" which is actually an excellent book. Anyone interested in fast firing cannons and their ammo should read and study that book. Orita 05/04/06
Always fun to see the pool expand, welcome Orita. btw, it doesn't hurt, but there's no need that enter your name and date at the end of posts, poster and date can always be seen. Save yourself the effort
Hi! I'm fairly new although I've spent some time cruising around. I'm 16 and really can't get enough information about military technology. chances are i'll be spending most of my time in the aircraft section i saw earlier. Siberian Black
Hello Siberian Black and all the members I have yet to say hello to. The pool is definitely expanding. I hope no one mistakes this website for anything illegal or dangerous, being that we have agents in quite a few countries.
Hello and good news for you siberian. I happen to be a chemistry student, you want a big boom or lots of flames? maybe I can help you get started. Hope you'll like it here and should you seriously be curious about explosives and their chemicals/reactions/principles, I'm quite certain that with the help of my teachers I can dig up a lot of information.
Lol, I wasn't really serious. I joke around alot online (much to the dismay of folks on another forum). Although... come to think of it, what's the chem formula for nitroglycerine?
NO2, one nitrigen atom bound to 2 oxygen atoms and welcom to the forum to everybody that joined after me
Nice try Quillin but quite a bit of, it's C3H5N3O9. Also NO2 is either a gas or if you are talking about NO2- it's an ion, as where nitroglycerin is liquid. If it wasn't so darn unstable I could make it at school and mail it to you on demand. (Though I would risk being kicked from school so hard I wouldn't have to mail but would simply land at your door.)
Greetings Hey everybody, I'm new to this list. I am Canadian and have been in the military for 12 years. 11 years on leopard tanks, and I am now on helicopters after transfering into the air force. I like all aspects and time periods of history, but I have a real soft spot for WW2 armoured.
