    During the same war, the Greek and Persian fleet met each other near Salamis. Both fleets counted several thousand ships. The Persian army, meanwhile, was marching on Athens via Thermopylae, so the Greeks were in a nasty situation.
    But the Greek leader Leonidas told his Persian adversary: "If you want Greece, then come and get it!"

    Salamis was the first truly decisive naval victory in recorded history, and it was a real beauty. The Greeks suckered the Persians into maneuvering into restricted waters, where their numbers worked against them, then proceeded to wreak total havoc on the Persian fleet.

    Well, arguably the war went on till August 1945 untill VJ Day, but even that doesn't take in Christmas 1946!

    once again the 14th Army has been forgotten, how could any one forget the exploits of Errol Flynne(that don't look right) who he any way? and my son in law's father was a Chindit with the Leicesters, appolagises again,
