IMHO, the M3 Grant and the M4 Sherman were both really ugly tanks. I really don't have a reason why though.

I hate the look of the Churchill and Cromwell, personally, as well as the Grant. These things are all squares and unharmonious shapes, unlike the German and Russian tanks or, say, the Comet. Another really ugly thing about the Cromwell is IMHO the giant bolts that keep the applique armour attached to the turret. Yuech! :)

Yeah, the Churchill is quite ugly too. I never liked that small turret/big body combo.

The Tiger is a shoe box someone kicked 300 times into the general shape of a tank.

    Well spoken !

I actually think they all look fascinating in their own way, from the smallest Japanese tankette to the German heavies.

    :)

Of course, and they are all just tanks designed for fighting and not for aesthetics. But still I think some are uglier than others. The Tiger I, for example, is horribly wide and square (except the turret). But a shoe box...

I dare you to try it! Kick a shoe box, 8 meters long and 3 meters high, until it looks like a Tiger, and I will agree with you. But you can only kick three hundred times! :D
