According to my sources it's the Panther at 1.9m
    Tiger II was 1.63m, Tiger I 1.56m.

If you count them all, then it's surely the Maus with 8 meters. But you said only the ones in active service, so it's the Panther.

if you want to get technical :D it was probably 15 meters by the Pz III als Tauchpanzer (sea lion), submersible battle tank. it was developed for the proposed invasion of Great Britain. But it did see action. On June 22, 1941 a Tauchpanzer of the 18th Panzer Division crossed the River Bug at Patulin. amazing huh. am i right?

Certainly. However 'Tauchpanzer' means Diving Tank, while Sea Lion was the codename for the operation of invading Great Britain: Operation Seelöwe.

Actually if i remeber correctly there was a PZIV Tauchpanzer as well...and as the PzIV is slightly bigger and higher therubber hose would let it dive about 30cm deeper :D

Just to clarify, does the crew have to survive the fording?

If the crew does not survive, then it is sinking, not fording!

It took hours to seal DD Shermans.

It was something you did, and after watching someone sink becuase they skimped on the sealing, you spent your time over it.

Besides troops in the field need to kept busy. There's only so many spuds in the world.

The Tauckpanzer were more or less sealed to begin with. Notice the extra seams around the mantlet and hull machine gun:
