What secret weapons projects did the Japanese try, other than their plague bombs?

    Hi.

I-400, the biggest conventional sub, was able to carry 3 M6A Seiran dive bomber floatplanes. The first objective of these subs was the Panama chanel.

I-25 carried the only japanese aircraft that bombed the US-mainland. It carried an E14Y1 reconnaissance floatplane. It made two attacks on forest areas in Oregon with two 76 kg incendary bombs each. This should cause fire but bad weather with heavy rain safed the trees.

The most famous secret weapon was the okha rocket propelled suicide bomb. There were speedboats for suicide use, too.

The japanese army developed bazookas and recoilless guns.
The type 4 and 5 prototype tanks were very interesting, too.
There were also some copies of german jetplanes and rocket propelled airplanes.

They also were going to launch their plague bombs at Los Angelos from one of them. Unfortunatly, I dont know what kind.

    Hi.

Yes, in 1944 there were plans to use submarine aircraft with anthrax, plague or chemical weapons against US-towns on the Westcoast.

The I-400-class subs were nearly built and the japanese naval command thought of targets to be attacked after a raid against the Panama chanel.

I don´t think these large and relatively slow subs had a chance to reach targets on the amercan continent. They would have been destroyed on approach.

There were also plans to use Fu-Go baloons with biologocal weapons but there was no attack reported.

For infos on japanese biological and chemical weapons search for "unit 731" and "unit 516".

    By what?
The Pacific was a big ocean, and American 'home defences' were rather lacking...

The waters off the major ports were well patrolled, as I understand it, but the U.S. Pacific coast is indeed a very long one.
