    I heartily agree! :D

No bunker is going to survive getting hit by that gun. I think the US Marines would've liked to have had some of those for their amphibious assaults in the Pacific.

I remember reading that the British used petard armed Churchill and a Churchill Crocodile for bunker busting in the following way

Stage 1: Call on them to surrender
Stage 2: Blast open the bunker with petard mortar
Stage 3: Call on them to surrender
Stage 4: Hose down the bunker with the Churchill Crocodile's flame thrower

There was no stage five since by the end of stage four everyone in the bunker would be dead.

Hi, yes it's the same Valentine as posted earlier in the thread. I had the pleasure of chatting with it's owner the evening before the Tankfest show. The pictures posted of the beach landing were of a "memorial" landing to commemorate the first sea trials where some of the tanks got swamped and some crews drowned I believe.

Getting to tankfest and the museum was a cherished dream come true. Especially as I met up with some pals from the states for the show.

Like a lot of others I took a great many photies. You can find the link to them in this page. The page also has links to other photo's supplied by members of the group i'm in. http://pedg.chollie.co.uk/pedgfiles.htm

PS this is Chollie! I forgot my password and haven't got a new one emailled yet so I re-registered with a vartiation of my nick.

It was unsurpassed for close-range bunker killing.

By basically lobbing a big lump of high explosive at the target.
