Ideally a Barrett .50 calibre rifle, a hill, and a wide field of fire.
Coupled with a kukri for when it got personal.

I couldn't find the thread on mankind's most sinister weapon, so I'll post this in here.

What if one had a weapon that could reverse the sexual orientation of opposing troops, causing them to, um... fornicate non-stop? That's supposedly one of the non-lethal weapons the Department of Defense was working on, but then subsequently dropped due to I believe a lack of funds.

If anyone has anymore information, please share.

Now, this isn't a fact, but I do believe this homosexuality bomb was tested in San Fransico. Just my theory. :D

fists are superior to open hand slapping...but thats pretty much the only thing...a stout stick or pocket of tennis ball size rocks trumps fists everytime....

Personal means something that belongs to you, that's part of you. I am sure a cool head is very important, but the most important physical (not cerebral) weapon are your legs. No, not for kicking, but for running. Yeah, you looked like a coward, but you live.

I'd say a handgun. Maybe a Desert Eagle. Handguns are compact and effective. Blades are good, but what use are they if the other guy's starin' you down with a firearm? Picture this: there's a guy with a sword and another guy with a gun. The guy with the sword charges at the other guy to use his sword and gets shot while he's still out of striking range. Blades have infinite ammo, but what does that do if you don't even get the chance to use that advantage? In my books, 2nd place is the M4 Carbine, which is like the M16 except more compact. Assault rifles like the M16 and AK47 take the bronze. Don't forget the MP5!
PS I agree with liang about the legs for running thing. No logical person should care about cowardliness when they're given the chance to live. Unless someone still follows The Code Of The Samuri and prefers do die "with honor".

Why not? Sexuality can be used as a 'weapon', and a very painful one at that...

Come on, this is sounding like a bunch of schoolboys...

Based on length of service, I'm going to put in a vote for the British "Brown Bess" Musket.

Used basically unchanged from Marlborough's day through to the 1840's and even beyond that.

    Kipling said it all:
OK, no-one mention accuracy, weight, accuracy, powder burns, accuracy....
Oh, lets give the Baker Rifle a mention as well....

Oh, and does anyone have anything to say about my "handguns are better than blades" theory?

Depends on the context, but overall I would value a handgun more as a weapon. A blade has other uses, though.

Handguns are heavy an inaccurate and require ammunition, but they do give you some range in a fight. Also they can be used as clubs when things get personal. So, yes, they are better than blades in pretty much every situation.

If depends entirely on circumstance. I read a very interesting article in a US edition of "Guns & Ammo" many years ago in which the author argued very persuasively that a knife was in many circumstances a better "Home Defence" weapon than a pistol.

Handguns are only any use at range against an opponent armed with another handgun (If you have faster reflexes and/or are a better shot), or a lesser weapon. Militarily handguns are pretty much a weapon of last resort, better than nothing but not by much.

Except for concealed carry purposes an SMG is a better weapon for most other situations, better range, more accurate, selective fire, larger magazine capacity, and modern SMGs are pretty compact too.
