Metallica, Megadeth, Nirvana, Iron Maiden and the rest of the lot, Andrew Llyod Webber (not a performing musician but I love his work anyway), Apocalyptica (Heavy Metal on Cellos. Really worth a listen), the Beatles and quite a number of other bands but they're too many to list ATM.

Actually, I've always wondered what you Europeans (Especially Scandinavians) thought of the brand of Heavy Metal e.g. Gothenburg Metal that your fellow countrymen churn out. I don't have anything against such music, but I always thought it odd that such an extreme form of music could find mainstream success in some parts of the world.

BTW i managed to get my hands on Rammstein's Amerika. Couldn't understand the German parts though.

Personally I like Queen , Black sabbath, and AC/DC , when you include the bands try to include your favourite songs by the band/s . Franz ferdinad and Jet aren't bad either. :D

Does AC/DC have a song called "Highway to hell"?

And Jet is Macca's band, right?

OK, these are the main German parts of the song:

Wenn getanzt wird, will ich führen
Auch wenn ihr euch alleine dreht
    Laßt euch ein wenig kontrollieren
Ich zeige euch, wie es richtig geht
    Wir bilden einen lieben Reigen
Die Freiheit spielt auf allen Geigen
Musik kommt aus dem Weißen Haus
Und vor Paris steht Micky Maus

Ich kenne Schritte, die sehr nützen
Und werde euch vor Fehltritt schützen
Und wer nicht tanzen will am Schluß
Weiß noch nicht, daß er tanzen muß
    Wir bilden einen lieben Reigen
Ich werde euch die Richtung zeigen
    Nach Afrika kommt Santa Claus
Und vor Paris steht Micky Maus...

    Meaning:

When there's dancing I want to lead
    even when you're turning alone
Let yourself be controlled a bit
I will show you how it should be done
We're developping a lovely round dance
    Freedom's playing all the violins
Music is coming from the White House
And in Paris there is Mickey Mouse

I know some paces that are very useful
And I will prevent you from taking wrong steps
And he who doesn't want to dance in the end
still doesn't know that dance he must
We're developping a lovely round dance
I will show you the direction
    To Africa comes Santa Claus
And in Paris there is Mickey Mouse

Amazing is an understatement. It´s one of the best albums ever, regardless of musical genre.

Heavy Metal seems to be rather popular amongst people within the 14-18 year old age bracket (myself included).
