Doing a paper on World War II tanks would require several hundred pages just for the most basic information - I would recommend narrowing the subject down!

You could try the development and battles of the panther. Probably the most interesting of the german tanks

Technically speaking, all variants of the Panther could be included in the article, if there's room!

If you wanted to get a bit deeper into the subject, you could look at the ways in which countries tried to maximise the use of their established tank production lines by producing different vehicles on the same chassis. Germany is a good subject as they did this a lot; when a tank became obsolete (and sometimes before then), it could be fitted with an artillery piece or a bigger anti-tank gun, or even flak guns.

It could be interesting to write something about the Panzerkampfwagen IV. While the most numerous tank in the German army in WW2, it isn't nearly as famous as the Panther or Tiger; it derserves a place in the sun for bearing the brunt of the German armoured forces' battles and for being the only tank of WW2 to be in service from 1939 right down to the last days of the war in Europe, without becoming truly obsolete because of continuous upgrading.
