    In theory, he is supposed to use the chain of command. However, his superior was known to be a political "patsy" and going by the book was definitely not going to work.

    I believe he did the right thing and I'm impressed that he kept it a secret all those years. Many folks would have jumped at the chance for notoriety and book deals, etc.

    I never did figure out why "Deep Throat" was used. It is kinda misleading ain't it. :lol:

    In some circumstances soldiers/policemen/public servants have a higher duty than just obeying orders. I would say this was one such circumstance.

    Then the queston to ask yourself is if it is morally justifiable to betray your President if that President is betraying his people (by breaking the law, trying to discredit the opposition, and thus staying in power).
